I ran into some complications but without further ado….I am up and running!! I have been so excited to start this blog and my new journey!
I have decided to start a new fitness routine to kick off the start of my blog. Starting Wednesday 8/12/15 I will begin a new workout program along with a new eating plan. In the past I have done 21 Day Fix, but I wanted to switch it up this time. I will be doing Focus T25 with trainer Shaun T. I have been on the fence about this workout program for a long time. I have been too scared to do it since I have a bad knee. I watched a sample workout before I bought it. The modifier is wonderful and I can always switch to her if needed. I will not be going on a diet per say. In the past, I lost a good amount of weight just by portioning everything out and counting calories. I react much better to this because I can still eat what I want and not deprive myself. Whenever I try to cut things out it never lasts long. Then I end up binge eating the things I tried to eliminate. So, I have decided to do a 80/20 eating plan. I will try to eat 80% clean and 20% not clean. I say try because I know I will not be perfect and have slip ups. I would like the 80/20 to become my lifelong food plan. It is a good mix of clean eating but still allows you to have some treats. To start out I am not going to count calories. For the first couple weeks I am going to portion everything out and see how that goes. I have a lot to overcome when it comes to food. In the past I would try so hard to eat clean and stay on track. But, if I had a slip up even just a little one I would give up then eat everything in sight. I was striving for perfection and setting myself up to fail from the beginning. T25 is a 10 week program. My goal for these next 10 weeks is to do my best to improve my eating habits. Even the smallest change will be better than what I am doing now. I always use to overwhelm myself thinking about the whole day and the whole week. This time I am going to focus on 1 meal at a time. Each time I eat I am going to focus on making that meal the best it can be. This is going to be a long road for me but I need to start somewhere. Publishing this blog for the whole world to see has really given me motivation that I have never had before. I want to show people that you CAN do it no matter where you are in your journey.
My new journey is not just about starting a new workout program. More importantly, it is about learning to love myself through the love Christ has for me. Along with starting the workout program, I will also be digging into God’s Word every day and learning more about who I am in Christ. I will wake up and begin my day with a devotion and prayer time. I will also be picking some verses each day to share on the blog. I have such a negative view of myself. I want to flood my mind with new positive thoughts. What better way to do that then with God’s Word :). I will also post anything else I read or heard throughout the day that brought me encouragement.
So with all that being said, what can you expect from me on a daily basis?
- Posts from God’s Word and anything else that brings encouragement that day
- Posts about life and my daily journey
- Posts to keep me accountable with my food each day for the next 10 weeks
- I am going to try to post something fitness related each day for all of you. The sky is the limit for this one 😉
You can find these things under the Daily Dose page and also under the My Journey Timeline page.
You can also expect to see –
- Weekly progress pics from my workout program (Found under My Journey Timeline page)
- Anything else I feel led to write about. After all, this blog covers all things from faith to fitness!!
Starting a blog and committing to sharing my journey on a daily basis is a huge step for me. It is very humbling and I am more than eager to see where this blog takes me!!
I hope this blog will bring encouragement and inspiration to all those who read it! Just remember that you are not alone and YOU ARE WORTH IT!!! 😀
